There is another 8 year old girl at Lydia's orphanage being adopted by a family near me and they too got a letter from their new daughter-to-be last weekend. They sent me a scan of it and it is SOOOO similar to Lydia's letter - almost word for word. I just had to chuckle. It will be interesting to see if we get to know the story behind them - who wrote them, etc.
The woman who took the photos I posted last night said this about Lydia, "She seemed happy and full of energy." And, another person who met Lydia a few weeks ago and got an updated height measurement for me (which hasn't changed) said, "Lydia is 48 inches tall and very cute."
We finally got all the money in the right denominations and in good shape from acceptable years for Ethiopia. One more thing checked off the to-do list. Four more days!
