On our way home from swimming lessons we go past a ravine beside a river. It is very shady with trees. On Monday, Lydia asked if there were monkeys living in there. Lalie and I tried to explain that we don't have monkeys in the "wild" here but I could tell that she didn't quite believe us. Tonight, she told me to turn off the music when we got there and she asked again about it. She said, "Lions down there?" No. "Tigers?" No. "Snakes?" Yes, maybe little ones that don't hurt you. She didn't buy that at all. I imagine it will take several more times of this before she accepts that there is not actually WILD life down there.
