The swimming party was great. We had the entire pool to ourselves. The group of kids above represents three different countries (China, Guatemala, Ethiopia). We have great friends and the adults enjoyed chatting while the kids swam.

My mom took pictures of the kids in the pool for me. Several of the kids tried to do flips. Many of them sounded painful but it didn't stop any of them. They had great fun at the diving board.

Lydia passed the swim test - wahoo! We all cheered for her. The only other time she passed was five minutes before the pool was closing and she wasn't brave enough in that short of time to go off the diving board. But this time a dad of two of the boys at the party was in the water below the diving board for her. Good thing too because she panicked a bit when hitting the deep water and didn't start swimming to the side. I'm not sure I wouldn't have had to go in after her if he hadn't been there. But, just like the rest of the things she does, after she tries it once she's good to go. She jumped off many more times and now swims easily to the side. This will be so handy for when we go back to swim again. Now she can go anywhere the other kids go.
